In this latest video entry into the “what the hell did I just see?” video category is David Beckham supposedly making three incredibly accurate shots into trash cans. See the video below.

So what do you think? Real or fake? Personally, I’m going with the latter. I could point to the obvious fact that Beckham is grasping a Diet Coke, likely viral marketing for the beverage giant. However, it’s the cameraman’s dialog that seems obviously scripted.

This isn’t the first video featuring an amazing athletic feat with questionable sincerity. Back in 2008, a video was uploaded featuring Kobe Bryant’s incredible vertical jump… over a speeding Aston Martin.

This video had commenters and blogs arguing for weeks over the validity of Kobe’s astounding car jump. The controversy ended when during an interview, Bryant admitted that he was never in danger and chalked up the incredible jump to, “Hollywood, baby.”

Like the Kobe video, another Nike ad popped up around the same time featuring soccer player Ronaldinho pulling off some amazing shots of his own.

So is Coke picking up where Nike left off? What’s your final vote on the Beckham video, mad skills? Or mad video editing skills.
